Shift planning without WhatsApp chaos
Drivers enter their availability in the app. You see who is available when, assign shifts and the system warns you when ArbZG (German Working Hours Act) limits are exceeded or shifts are uncovered.
Digital availability capture
Drivers open the app, tap 'Report availability' and mark the days and times they can work. You see all availabilities aggregated in a weekly grid: who can do Friday evening? Who covers the lunch service? No WhatsApp thread, no phone-round survey. Availabilities can be entered for individual weeks or as a recurring setting.
Shift assignment and confirmation
Assign shifts by drag-and-drop or by click. The driver immediately receives a push notification: 'You've been scheduled for Saturday 17:00–22:00.' Drivers can confirm the shift or decline with a reason. Unresponded assignments after 24 hours escalate as a warning in the planner dashboard. Shift changes by the planner are communicated immediately via push.
Swap chat between drivers
Drivers can mark an assigned shift as 'available to swap' and request a swap partner. The potential swap partner receives a request in the app. If they agree, the swap is automatically updated in the shift plan — the planner only needs to approve (or disable approval for automatic swaps). No WhatsApp back-and-forth, no manual plan adjustments.
ArbZG hour capping and overtime alert
The system checks on every shift assignment whether the planned weekly hours exceed the ArbZG (German Working Hours Act) limit (48 hours/week maximum, guideline 8 hours/day). If so, a warning icon and message appear. You decide whether to assign anyway. Worked overtime is shown separately in the monthly report — important for payroll and labour inspections.
Gap alert: identify uncovered shifts
When upcoming shifts are uncovered — e.g. Saturday evening has only 2 instead of the required 5 drivers — an alert appears in the dashboard. You can send a broadcast message directly from there to all available drivers: 'Saturday 18:00–23:00 still open — who can do it?' Drivers respond via the app. Gap management runs entirely without email.
Shift planning in numbers
Less planning effort
Digital availabilities instead of phone calls and WhatsApp groups.
ArbZG violations
Warnings before assignment prevent accidental breaches of German working time law.
Swap process
Swap requests run in the app — no admin action needed for straightforward swaps.
Common questions about shift planning
Can drivers decline shifts?
Yes. Drivers can decline a shift with a reason: illness, holiday, personal appointment. The decline appears in the planner dashboard as an open gap. You find a replacement manually or send a broadcast request.
Can I create shift templates for recurring weeks?
Yes. Create shift templates (e.g. 'Standard summer week') and apply them to specific weeks. All shifts are created automatically — only exceptions need to be adjusted manually.
How do drivers see their shift plan?
Drivers see in the app the full weekly shift plan: all their own shifts with time, location and status (confirmed, pending). Changes arrive immediately as push notifications.
